The Perry Home (1927)

One of the original seven Lakewood homes, this classic English Tudor was built in 1927. The house located at 4010 Lakewood Drive sits on 5 acres overlooking the lake and meadow. The 6,000 square foot house underwent major renovations in 1985 when it was purchased by Debby and Emmett Godfrey. The original hardwood and Italian tile floors and exposed ceiling beams contribute to the charm of this old beauty.

I have so many fond memories of growing up in this home from 1969 to 1984; swimming in the lake, moss battles, fishing with my grandfather, rowing in the canoe, sitting in the front window while I was on the phone for hours looking at the Christmas tree and counting the cars as they came in the gate. It was a great place to grow up.

My husband and I married here in 1981. "The wall" was built. My first daughter loved visiting her grandmother and wandering around the yard. I was sad that my family was leaving it behind, but glad another family purchased the home who loved it as much as we did.
