July 2010 meeting

The July 2010 meeting of the Bessemer Historical Homeowners Association will be at John and Rita Neely's home, at 7:00 PM on July 20, 2010.

The Sears-Schilleci home at 100 Waverly Drive was built in 1949. This home is truly one of a kind and has been described as a mix of Tudor and Cape Cod architecture. The home was custom built with imported Italian marble and stained glass.

Schilleci is mispelt. You have Schillaci but it was my grandfather's house and last name was Schilleci- I have the original blue prints of this home and actually lived there. My grandfather was part of the history of bessemer with his Ice cream Dist. You will find family homes on Claredon Ave and a lot of History behind that. Please note that the spelling of my grandfathers name and previous owner of that house is Schilleci and I am unaware of where Sears came in since they built that home.
